The “Decompression Procedures Diver” course is a diving specialization that teaches divers the necessary skills to perform longer and deeper decompression dives. This course focuses on teaching divers how to plan and execute dives that require decompression stops, using decompression tables and/or software, and specific equipment for gas management.

The course program includes a combination of theoretical and practical classes, in which students learn about decompression theory, equipment selection and configuration, and advanced diving techniques. The theoretical classes cover topics such as diving physics, decompression physiology, gas management equipment, decompression dive planning, gas management, buoyancy control, and safety in diving with decompression stops.

The practical classes include exercises in the pool and open water, where students practice safety skills such as underwater communication, equipment management, handling emergency situations, and planning and executing dives with decompression stops. Students are also taught how to use advanced tools and equipment, such as decompression software and deco gas cylinders, to enhance their diving experience.

The “Decompression Procedures Diver” course includes several training objectives, such as the ability to plan and execute decompression dives safely and effectively, the ability to use decompression tables and software, and the ability to work as a team with other technical divers. Additionally, students learn how to handle emergency situations and make critical decisions in the decompression diving environment.

To take the “Decompression Procedures Diver” course, it is necessary to have an advanced diving certification and previous open water experience. It is also important to have good physical and mental fitness, as well as a learning attitude and passion for technical diving. Upon completion of the course, divers will be better prepared to face a variety of challenges and situations in technical diving and can continue their training by advancing as technical divers.
