Cenote Tours
Portals to the Mayan underworld, sacred wells, sources of water, and now also places to fly.
The feeling of weightlessness taken to its maximum expression.
The word cenote is a Spanish derivation of the original Maya term Dz'onot, which means water well.
Diving in cenotes is divided into 2 distinct areas: 1) the cavern zone, which is the antechamber to the cave, and 2) the cave zone.
To dive in the cavern, you won't need any special certification, just your recreational diving certification and some previous diving experience. We have caverns for all levels, from beginners to the most demanding advanced divers; they will be fascinated by its crystal-clear waters, play of lights, and wonderful formations such as stalactites and stalagmites.
Our guides have over 20 years of experience in the area guiding caverns.
For cave diving, certification with a recognized agency is required.
The Riviera Maya is the worldwide mecca for cave diving: the highest concentration of submerged caves, the longest ones, the most decorated, and with the most pleasant water temperatures. Additionally, water access points are very easy, requiring no long equipment portages.
Cenotes are extremely addictive; once you try them, you can't stop. Thousands of divers return each year to immerse themselves in its waters.
If you're not certified in cave diving but would like to be, we can assist you with your course; check our courses section.
